MIGHTY WORKS

Lord, do a mighty work in me

As I fulfil my given role…

Claim everything that’s Yours

All the things that satan stole.

Magnify my love for You

And renovate  my mind;

Clear the cobwebs from my heart

As I leave the past behind.

Fix my vision on Your goal

As many souls are saved;

Engrave compassion in my soul

For the path which You have paved.

As Your perpetual understanding

And wisdom is gradually revealed;

Your ways are wonderful

As You become my sun and shield.

“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”  2 Corinthians 5:18

SOUL SEARCH

Take a precious tender moment

And reflect upon our life…

Do we think about eternity

And have we found grace in God’s sight?

Is our daily agenda full

As we continue in our ways?

Or is our life surrendered

For God’s glory and His praise?

Are we alone in the evening

As we fall asleep each night?

Or do we close our eyes with ease

As Jesus makes our burdens light?

As life’s deep and true meaning

Makes us stop to take reflection…

We’ll discover our Lord’s grace

With His mercy and affection.

As we cry for precious truth

And the tide of life slows down,

God will open His deep treasure

And turn our life around.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28

WORDS FOREVER HURT

Sticks and stones may break the bones

But words will forever hurt,

Because the venom flowing from the lips

The soul much pain will birth.

The torture that is physical

The flesh may cry all day,

But the poison pointed to our heart

Makes dead our every way.

Bruises they may come and go

And they can be forgotten,

But the curse that pours like lava

Makes the insides to be rotten.

Words do forever hurt us

And stay embedded in our soul,

If there’s no room for forgiveness

In our heart to make us whole.

(C) P.B. 2005

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  Proverbs 18:21

ETERNAL LIFE

Do we often wonder

What life is all about?

Does our heart have hope

Or is our mind so full of doubt?

Do we often dream of heaven

Hoping to make it there one day?

Or will we choose to dwell in hell

As we live a selfish way?

Is our heart so full of troubles

With a mind that cannot cope?

Or is the touch of God so close

Which gives us lots of hope?

We all have a fallen nature

Due to Adam and Eve’s sin,

But our God gave us His Son

To save our soul within.

As we let our Savior in

To dwell inside our heart,

We pray to Jesus daily

As we’re truly set apart.

He’ll give us lots of peace

So we reject our worldly ways,

And live a righteous life

To see HIs eternal days.

(C) P.B. 2005

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

DADDY

O’ Lord You are my daddy

The best Father You could be…

A sweet most tender figure

Who sent Jesus just for me.

I love You very much

As I’m reconciled to You;

I pray that all my days

Bring You all the glory too.

I thank You dear Lord

As You fill my heart with love;

I’m your everlasting child

And one day we’ll meet above.

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out ‘Abba, Father.”’  Romans 8:15

THE POWER

Your power and Your awesome might

Can never be compared;

It is unique and wonderful as well

And Your love is never spared.

As the roaring thunder rolls

Your finger throws the bolts;

You’ve created many wondrous things

With no seam or any fault.

Your hand suspends the universe

Your finger holds the sun;

Your heartbeat loves Your people

Has compassion on everyone.

We thank you dear God

For creating us with love;

As we’re reconciled to You

With much power from above.

(C) P.B. 2004

“The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.”  Psalm 29:4

TIME

The awesome beat of time

Which ticks inside our heart…

From one breath to another

It unites and tears apart.

There’s a season much for all

One of love and one of hate;

A time of birth and death

Which is never out of date.

In a realm so eternal

This time does not exist;

As the seconds and the hours

Are not found in our midst.

As a step into eternity

Will leave all time behind;

As our spirit lives forever

And the hand of time unwinds.

(C) P.B. 2004

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.  A time to be born, and a time to die…a time to love, and a time to hate.”  Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, 8

MIGHTY WINDS

The rushing mighty wind

Knocks on the door of our heart;

It stirs up complacency

To allow a brand new start.

If we allow this sound of heaven

To renovate our soul,

It will bring forth new life

With many blessings to unfold.

God’s finger creates this swirl

But if we decide to close the door,

We invite an alternative twister

Which will physically shake our core.

This twister will be vicious

Which creates natural disasters,

With the intent to destroy our lives

If we make satan our master.

We can choose supernatural or natural

As these winds do come our way,

To stir us and things around us

Shaking our foundations every day.

(C) P.B. 2004

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”  Acts 2:2

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”  Acts 2:4

THE RELATIONSHIP

I know of someone special

Who can wipe away my sin…

But to know Him personally

Gives my soul much peace within.

But I never knew Him deeply

The way that I do now;

I can trust in Him for guidance

And my knee to Him I bow.

My heart and soul is captured

By the beauty of His love;

He’s my Father up in heaven

As He watches from above.

I’m related by Christ’s blood

Which was shed at Calvary;

Our sweet Jesus Lord and Savior

Who died for you and me.

As His hand gently adopts me

And instructs the way of life;

I surrender all my being

As I become His bride and wife.

(C) P.B. 2004

“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”  Isaiah 55:6

LORD MAKE ME A DISCIPLE

Lord make me a disciple

As I learn Your noble ways,

My life to be surrendered

For Your glory and Your praise.

Remove the worldly traits

Which choke the soul within,

And raise Your holy banner

So new life can now begin.

Establish healthy patterns

As I learn to walk Your way,

And place compassion in my heart

For thirsty souls each day.

Remove excuses from my plate

As I learn to eat Your bread,

And may Your Spirit dwell within

My heart and not my head.

Lord train my feet to move

So I touch the hungry hearts,

Teach my soul to pray

So I’m truly set apart.

As I learn to hear Your voice

More like You I learn to be,

You prepare my home above

So Your face one day I’ll see.
