IF I FORGOT TO LOVE YOU

If I forgot to love you
Please sincerely understand,
That it was never done intentionally
And not at my command.

If I forgot to love you
There was pain inside my heart,
Through many tests and trials
That would end and then would start.

If I forgot to love you
It’s because it was not yet revealed;
The depth and its importance
Where to God we all must yield.

And if I forgot to love you
Please forgive this iniquity,
Since it was done in pure ignorance
Where I truly could not see.

If I forgot to love you
My mind was cluttered with many things,
But in retrospect there was a blockage
Of the peace true love can bring.

But when I awake and do remember
Please accept my love within,
When the treasures of my heart will shine
And where my affection you will win.

Because when I’m reminded of the greatest love
That hung upon that tree,
It was unconditional that truly let
My troubled soul go free.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

DOORS

We open doors and close them
And do not realise half the time,
That we’ve opened ones that are not right
When we search and cannot find.

The wrong doors lead to chaos
When we dare to enter in,
Because it’s a reflection of what we desire;
The deep yearnings from within.

And the heart is deceptive and wicked;
We don’t know what really resides;
It is only during certain moments
That it’s revealed and cannot hide.

And good intentions may be questioned
Since to be selfish is the norm,
But when the fear of God resides within
The motives take on a different form.

The right doors lead to life
Where decisions are of nobility,
And morally good and steadfast
Where true blessings we do see.

The snake will enter through the cracks
When we allow him to;
It’s important that certain doors
Remain sealed in what we say and do.

And the tongue may open certain doors
That are unnecessary as well,
Bringing confusion and much heartache
When it is set on fire by hell.

Some doors need to remain shut
For the serenity of our soul,
Because unless it is reciprocal
Many issues may unfold.

Because deception will run wild
When the wrong door will open wide,
When we handle things incorrectly;
And hidden motives are inside.

If God opens the doors
When we persist in fervent prayers,
It will be according to His will and timing
And His tender loving care.

Because unless the right ones open
Our lives can become a mess,
So patience it is mandatory
If we wish to be truly blessed.

“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.”
Psalm 24:7

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity…it is set on fire by hell.” James 3:6

“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.’” John 10:7-9

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

HIDDEN GEMS

Sometimes we can be idealistic
Of how life should really be,
But most times the valuables are in our midst
But where we fail to truly see.

We’re enriched on a daily basis
By our God-given family,
And friends that sincerely want the best
So blessings we will see.

It’s in a child’s laughter
Where the happiness is vast,
And also in our experiences
Where memories do last.

It’s the prayer warriors behind the scenes
Who pray for our protection too,
Knowing that the spiritual battle is all too real
Who intercede with hearts so true.

It’s in an old man’s story
As he shares his memories,
With words of wisdom in his tears
Where the treasure can be seen.

It’s in the incorruptible beauty
Of a quiet and gentle spirit;
It’s in the hidden person of the heart
With sincerity within it.

Sometimes the gems are hidden
But not deliberately,
Because at times our soul is troubled
Where confusion is all we see.

There are hidden gems everywhere
Where the eyes of our heart should know,
That when we awake with every breath we take
It’s God’s glory we do show.

The hidden gems are timeless;
They’re in a stranger’s smile too,
With a helping hand and a giving heart
Where there’s kindness in all they do.

Our Savior is a hidden gem
As He’s the Father’s precious Son,
Who sacrificed His life for us
As a propitiation for everyone.

“Rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:4

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:7-8

WAIT…IT’S NOT TOO LATE

There’s a virtue in our waiting
When in God’s timing we do trust,
Since it will bring forth His perfect will
When it becomes a must.

It’s easy to be allured
By stunning appearances and vanity,
But unless there’s character through experience
Much heartache we may see.

There’s patience in our waiting
When it’s for God’s ministry,
Where self-control and long-suffering
In our soul has learnt to be.

It’s best to pray for His perfect will
Since true blessings will take place,
Because although there’s His permissive will
Consequences will be faced.

There’s a beauty in our waiting
With an anticipation as well,
Wondering how and what He will provide
And much hope and peace this spells.

At times He will minister
Through dreams and visions too,
And stamping it upon our heart
When it’s His will we need to do.

It’s not too late, it never is
And it’s not premature too,
When we wait for God’s promises
Which are steadfast and are true.

And when this hope deferred brings fruit
It’s like a refreshing spring,
Giving God all the glory
Along with the blessings it does bring.

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;” Psalm 37:7

“So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hebrews 9:28

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1

TRANSFORMED

We are formed to be transformed
By God and His holy ways,
And the enemy of our soul
Will counterfeit what God does say.

Instead of being conformed
We are to be transformed and renewed,
So Christ is birthed in our soul
To be genuine and true.

A transformation is a beautiful thing
When with sincerity it’s paved,
And where nobility and goodness
Ministers to our soul to stay.

A caterpillar is transformed
When a butterfly arrives,
And it was in the chrysalis of darkness
That the new birth was about to thrive.

Transformation is necessary
If we’re to enter through His gate,
Since our soulish ways cannot inherit
God’s kingdom in that state.

To be transformed is to be rebirthed
In the spirit realm so true,
When God’s Pneuma comes to dwell
Inside to make things new.

And when our Psyche it is ministered to
By God’s purity and His ways,
There’s sanctification along with justification
When God’s Spirit will remain.

Because when the cross was transformed
Into life saving pieces of beams,
It was when Christ lovingly hung for us
So for our sins to intercede.

It is through this transformation
That eternity awaits,
Let’s repent and get right with God
Before it simply is too late.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” John 3:3

“But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:11

“For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,” Hebrews 2:11

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honour,” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.” John 17:17

“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14

EYES ON THE PRIZE

Sometimes we may be tempted
When impatience has its way,
To try to rush the process
Or to have the final say.

We may try to control
Or manipulate as well,
However this will spoil the outcome
And disaster this will spell.

Because when God shows us clearly
As to which direction we should take,
It may involve much patience
With the ability to wait.

When our eyes are on the prize
Irrespective of what comes our way,
We know deep in our heart
That God’s promise will remain.

When our eyes are on the prize
There’s a quality that is revealed,
Showing God’s goodness and His kindness;
It’s where His peace our heart will seal.

And when our eyes are on the prize
It’s the finish line we see,
Where our marathon of trials
Will lead us into eternity.

God wants to bless us with rewards
For all of eternity,
And when we wait upon His will;
Much joy and love we see.

And when our eyes are on Jesus
His prize is the most favourable,
Gifting us with His salvation
Where our heart and soul is full.

Because this brevity of life
Will be over any day,
Let’s keep our eyes on the prize
Where God’s faithfulness remains.

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Philippians 3:20

“Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord,” Philippians 3:8

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

HIS POETRY

We are a walking miracle
And marvelous in every way;
Created so magnificently
Giving glory to God each day.

We are His walking poetry;
A reflection of His love,
Designed and framed by brilliance
From His sovereign hand above.

His lyrics are upon our heart
When we’re cleansed and born anew,
With His poetry within our soul
Where His word will ring so true.

His word will have a rhythm;
It will transform our heart within,
Because it’s powerful and pure
As we’re washed from all our sin.

We are His greatest masterpiece;
The most refined literature indeed,
Where the organic story of our lives
Has potential to plant seed.

And each stanza is creative;
As it reflects our journey too,
When we trust in Him who holds our soul
To sanctify and to renew.

His poetry has meaning;
It is deep and precious too,
Since we’re made in the image of God;
To be loving and be true.

Let’s be presented blameless
Under the covering of Christ,
When we stand before God’s throne
To reflect His pure light.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” John 3:3

IT WON’T MATTER

It won’t matter if we were preachers
Or teachers of God’s word,
Since there are countless ones who don’t obey
Where Jesus is not Lord.

It won’t matter if we did good works
Or prayed many prayers each day,
Since true holiness and bearing fruit
Comes when we simply do obey.

Our titles will not matter
Since they’re merely titles after all,
And true respect and dignity
Is when God our name will call.

And it won’t matter whether we profess
To love Jesus with our heart,
Because only God will truly know
If we’re really set apart.

As honorable as good works are
They’re not a ticket to eternity,
Since even unbelievers are caring and loving
But where God’s kingdom they won’t see.

Because the spiritual battle it is real
And narrow is the way,
And although Christians may struggle at times
There’s a promise that remains.

Repentance is required
And to be covered by His blood,
So God sees Jesus as our mediator
And purchased through His love.

Good works will never save;
It’s only through Jesus Christ,
Who sacrificed his dear life
And where His blood will suffice.

The only thing that will matter
Is if we’re truly saved indeed,
When Jesus is Lord and Savior
For all of eternity.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Matthew 7:21-23

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole arbor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13

“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

Every day when we arise
We remember it’s by His grace,
And say a prayer of gratitude
When each new day we face.

And as we face our daily routine
We remember it’s through His love,
That we were conceived in the very first place
As we keep our focus on above.

As our children leave our home
We entrust them in His care,
Because our eyes and ears simply cannot
Be with them everywhere.

And we always say a prayer
Irrespective of how we feel,
Because God’s mercy will forever extend
When to His truth we choose to yield.

When we may feel discouraged
By the coldness of others’ hearts,
We whisper a prayer that God blesses them
And that His love in them imparts.

Because we simply will not manage
If we entrust our trust to us,
Since we’re limited in our ability
When in God we will not trust.

So let’s always say a prayer
And trust that Jesus sees our tears,
Because He’s the only One that heals us
When to Him we will draw near.

He can change the hardest hearts
And melt away their fears,
Since there are many testimonies
Where God our prayers He hears.

Our prayers are never wasted
It’s merely a timing issue indeed,
Because they’re a fragrance to the Lord
When our humility He sees.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

“Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” Romans 12:12

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” Ephesians 6:18

“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17

“You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book?” Psalm 56:8

“Give ear to my prayer, O God, and do not hide Yourself from my supplication. Attend to me, and hear me;” Psalm 55:1-2

“In this manner, therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13

IF WE’RE SERIOUS…

If we’re serious about seeking God
We will search with all our soul,
And cry out for Him to reveal Himself
And He will answer us behold!

But we need to be serious
Because it is no trivial thing,
To discover the Father’s love for us
And the blessings this so brings.

If we’re serious in following God
We must be fully aware,
That once the Holy Spirit comes to dwell
He eliminates unnecessary cares.

And one by one but surely indeed
When we’re progressively sanctified,
The love to sincerely see souls saved
Becomes the apple of our eye.

When we’re serious about relationships
We should remain loyal and faithful indeed,
Putting the needs of others first
And to encourage with good seed.

Our seriousness will turn to joy
When we know God is in control,
As He gives us the much needed peace
That we crave from our soul.

But we’ll appear to be arrogant
In the eyes of those who don’t believe,
However, excuses and walking in the flesh
Only come so they’ll deceive.

And we must always remember
That in our finest day indeed,
We still have the fallen nature
Hence the need for Jesus to intercede!

And we must be serious in our walk
If we’re to overcome our sins,
Knowing the battle is fierce every day
Where both sides they wish to win.

The spiritual realm is not flippant
Since there’s a war that’s going on,
And we must be clothed with the full armor
So powers of darkness will be gone.

Let’s be serious about eternity
Because society will make us slumber,
And place us into a mode of sleep
And into an entertainment wonder.

Jesus was serious about the cross
When He face the worst agony,
But it was our faces that He so desired to see
In His glorious eternity!
