SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND

When we sincerely have a desire
To seek a matter out,
We’ll study and we’ll research
To find what it’s about.

We’ll ask many questions
To inquire of its validity;
With its consistency and facts
So the truth we finally see.

When we knock the door is opened
And when we ask we shall receive,
When we’re diligent and determined –
The truth shall set us free.

When we ask God Almighty
To reveal that He is near,
It’s the heart that’s crying out
With intentions that are sincere.

Because there comes a point in life
When shallow ways cannot fulfil,
As we seek for so much deeper
Where a purpose is instilled.

And God never disappoints
As His nature is true indeed,
And so long as we are humble
It’s in His heart to intercede.

Our pride keeps Him away
Or when we’re self-absorbed as well,
Because His nature it is pure
And it’s where peace it loves to dwell.

When we seek we shall find;
When we seek Him with all our soul,
Since it’s His desire that none perish
But for all to repent, behold!

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
