ALWAYS SAY A PRAYER

Every day when we arise
We remember it’s by His grace,
And say a prayer of gratitude
When each new day we face.

And as we face our daily routine
We remember it’s through His love,
That we were conceived in the very first place
As we keep our focus on above.

As our children leave our home
We entrust them in His care,
Because our eyes and ears simply cannot
Be with them everywhere.

And we always say a prayer
Irrespective of how we feel,
Because God’s mercy will forever extend
When to His truth we choose to yield.

When we may feel discouraged
By the coldness of others’ hearts,
We whisper a prayer that God blesses them
And that His love in them imparts.

Because we simply will not manage
If we entrust our trust to us,
Since we’re limited in our ability
When in God we will not trust.

So let’s always say a prayer
And trust that Jesus sees our tears,
Because He’s the only One that heals us
When to Him we will draw near.

He can change the hardest hearts
And melt away their fears,
Since there are many testimonies
Where God our prayers He hears.

Our prayers are never wasted
It’s merely a timing issue indeed,
Because they’re a fragrance to the Lord
When our humility He sees.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41

“Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;” Romans 12:12

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” Ephesians 6:18

“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17

“You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book?” Psalm 56:8

“Give ear to my prayer, O God, and do not hide Yourself from my supplication. Attend to me, and hear me;” Psalm 55:1-2

“In this manner, therefore pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” Matthew 6:9-13

IF WE’RE SERIOUS…

If we’re serious about seeking God
We will search with all our soul,
And cry out for Him to reveal Himself
And He will answer us behold!

But we need to be serious
Because it is no trivial thing,
To discover the Father’s love for us
And the blessings this so brings.

If we’re serious in following God
We must be fully aware,
That once the Holy Spirit comes to dwell
He eliminates unnecessary cares.

And one by one but surely indeed
When we’re progressively sanctified,
The love to sincerely see souls saved
Becomes the apple of our eye.

When we’re serious about relationships
We should remain loyal and faithful indeed,
Putting the needs of others first
And to encourage with good seed.

Our seriousness will turn to joy
When we know God is in control,
As He gives us the much needed peace
That we crave from our soul.

But we’ll appear to be arrogant
In the eyes of those who don’t believe,
However, excuses and walking in the flesh
Only come so they’ll deceive.

And we must always remember
That in our finest day indeed,
We still have the fallen nature
Hence the need for Jesus to intercede!

And we must be serious in our walk
If we’re to overcome our sins,
Knowing the battle is fierce every day
Where both sides they wish to win.

The spiritual realm is not flippant
Since there’s a war that’s going on,
And we must be clothed with the full armor
So powers of darkness will be gone.

Let’s be serious about eternity
Because society will make us slumber,
And place us into a mode of sleep
And into an entertainment wonder.

Jesus was serious about the cross
When He face the worst agony,
But it was our faces that He so desired to see
In His glorious eternity!

P.B. 2023

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13

“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord.” Isaiah 55:6-7

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity;” Jeremiah 29:13-14

And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:24-25

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.” John 6:63

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27

“But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8

NO IDEA

Some people have no idea
Of how much of a blessing they are,
Because their kindness and humility
Is seen from afar.

Some people have no idea
How much their selfless nature assists,
Particularly when they encourage the broken
And their spirit they do lift.

And some have no idea
How far their influence will go,
When in humility they plant a seed
And in love and peace they sow.

But others have no idea
How much of a stumbling block they are,
When their selfish ways and ego
Create emotional wounds and scars.

And others have no idea
How much their anger really hurts,
When they don’t consider the needs of others
With their bitter of outbursts.

We all have no idea
How our words become a snare,
When they’re hasty without any wisdom
When we really do not care.

We all have no idea
How much our sins hurt God Almighty,
Because sin is sin in the eyes of God
That He never does take lightly.

And we all have no idea
Of the pain that Jesus felt,
When He was crucified on our behalf
When He sacrificed Himself.

Because we all have no idea
Of the extent of the Father’s love,
Until we no longer are His enemies
As we are reconciled above.

P.B. 2023

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” Galatians 5:22

“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” Psalm 34:17-18

“Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who rejoice at my hurt; let them be clothed with shame and dishonour who exalt themselves against me.” Psalm 35:26

“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalm 9:17

“God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” Psalm 7:11

SATISFACTION

It is wonderful to have the ability
To enjoy many things in life,
But as satisfying as it can be
It will never truly suffice.

Because enjoyment is temporary
It’s like a thrill for the soul,
And as wonderful as the feeling is
There will always remain a hole.

Have we noticed on occasion
When we acquire something new,
That it’s most exciting initially
With a renewed passion too.

But over time the satisfaction
Will fade just like a leaf,
As we take the item for granted
Or no longer wish to keep.

Because our Creator created us
To find true satisfaction in only Him,
As He satisfies the longing
And the deep desire for truth within.

Depression can come so easily
When circumstances don’t go our way,
But when we trust in God to meet our needs
There’s a hope that will remain.

When God satisfies our soul
Nothing ever will compare,
Because the beauty and the joy within
Is from His tender love and care.

True satisfaction will only come
When God’s hand will touch our heart,
And when we receive a deeper revelation
To be truly set apart.

People will always disappoint us
No matter how wonderful they may be,
Because the fallen nature of mankind
Most times loves conditionally.

But the heart of God will satisfy
When our faith is found in Him,
And when Jesus becomes our Lord and Savior
So we’re satisfied in Him.

P.B. 2023

“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.” Psalm 17:15

“Oh satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days!” Psalm 90:14

“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy?” Isaiah 55:2

IN AWE

Every morning when my soul awakes
I’m in total awe of You;
Of Your brilliance and Your majesty
And in all that You will do.

Your splendour and Your masterpiece
Exists in every sphere,
You have fashioned all so brilliantly
And it’s Your voice I wish to hear.

In total awe of Your grace
So undeserved but rich and true;
There’s no end to Your mercy
And Your pure compassion too.

The universe cannot contain
Your presence and Your wonder,
Because You live outside the realm of time
And there simply is no other.

Your word it nourishes my soul
Because it’s deep, it’s rich and real,
And Your tender hand it wipes my tears
And my heart You gently heal.

I pray my name is written
In the Lamb’s Book of Life,
Having trusted in Your promises
And in Your Son Jesus Christ.

In total awe of You my Lord
Because You’re faithful through and through,
And I thank You for Your integrity
That is timeless and is true.

Nothing or nobody can compare
To Your marvelous of ways,
That my soul it knows too deep and well
When You sustain my living days.

I thank You and am grateful
That I’m in total awe of You,
And I will treasure every moment
When You provide with all things new.

(C) PB 2023

“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14

“How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalm 139:17-18

GOD IS WATCHING US

We may not believe it
And hope that it’s not true,
But the reality and the fact is
That God is watching me and you.

If we believe He is watching us
We wouldn’t be so arrogant,
And we’d ensure that our time on earth
On eternal things be spent.

If all the evil dictators
Believed that God is watching them,
Then surely they would change their ways
And on their knees repent.

God is real and is watching us
And the question we should ask,
Is what our calling and our purpose is
With a legacy that lasts.

So if we truly do believe
That God is watching all we do,
We’d examine ourselves quite regularly
To be vigilant and wiser too.

If we believe God is watching us
Then we’d love our neighbour too,
And do no harm at all whatsoever
To keep things simple and true.

If the power and the money hungry
Believed that God’s eye it hovers above,
Then they would exchange their lies and hypocrisy
And adopt greater measures of love.

God sincerely is watching us
And looking after our dear soul,
When we place our trust and hope in Him
To love and honour Him behold!

PB 2023

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” Proverbs 15:3

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous; and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.” Psalm 34:15-16

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye…Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; but he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.” Psalm 32:8-10

“Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,” Colossians 3:9-10

BEAUTIFUL

He truly is so beautiful
And grand in every way;
His desire is to heal us
So spiritual riches will remain.

He’s beautiful beyond comprehension
As His creation will testify,
With all shapes, designs and colours
That are magnificent to our eyes.

He is not responsible
For all self-induced behaviours,
And His desire is never for evil
But to draw us to our Savior.

Beautiful beyond words and deeds
Is His dear precious soul;
He’s our Creator and master designer
And too wonderful to behold!

Negativity and all things shallow
Do not exist in His vocabulary,
Because the deeper treasures remain in Him
When with a repentant heart we see.

His beauty extends throughout eternity
And His hand reaches out to us;
His mercy and compassion is endless
As He knows we’re merely dust.

But so precious in His eyes
And when we cry to Him he hears,
To deliver us from our pain
And our hardships throughout the years.

He is beautiful beyond description
And our soul it knows too well,
That His brilliance is eternal
Where eternal life it dwells.

His beauty extends forever
Because eternal He will be,
And may the eyes of our heart be opened
To see His grandeur and majesty.

PB 2022

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11

“Marvellous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” Psalm 139:14

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will Ii seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.” Psalm 27:4

“Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of my supplications! The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.” Psalm 28:6-7

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.” Psalm 48:1-2

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

WHEN WE LOVE…

When we love money
We will never be satisfied,
Because that insatiable appetite
Cannot be crucified.

When we love status
And all the benefits,
Much compromise enters the soul
Where cognitive dissonance will sit.

When we love unrighteousness
It’s because we truly believe,
That our choices will not affect us
And that God won’t hear or see.

When we love materialism;
The eye will never be satisfied,
Because the shelf life will be temporary
Before new things we wish to buy.

When we love all worldly ways
Eventually we won’t have the strength to stand,
Because we’ll fall for everything and anything
With all of its demands.

But when we love kindness;
To put the needs of others first,
There will be a fountain in our dear soul
Where never we will thirst.

When we love God
And our neighbour as ourselves,
It’s where selflessness will live
And where peace and joy will dwell.

And when we love to love
Disappointed we will never be,
Because it’s where God’s beauty and goodness lives
And where all blessings we will see.

The commandments of God relate to love;
Not on achievements or success,
Because it’s the treasures of the soul
That will express the very best.

Depending on what we love
Is where our treasure it will be,
Let’s realign our heart and mind
So God’s will and plan we see.

PB 2022

“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

THE TEN VIRGINS

There are wise and foolish virgins

Yet they all do look the same,

But only five will meet the bridegroom

Whilst five behind they will remain.

Because the wise ones carried oil

And at midnight trimmed their lamps,

Whilst the foolish ones had not enough

And had to leave the camp.

But the bridegroom came at a time

That was least expected too,

And only those who carried oil

Were found as brides pure and true.

The wise ones they were ready

Whilst the foolish went away,

Since the true brides were anointed

And used wisdom as they prayed.

The wise ones were consecrated;

Set apart and dedicated,

Betrothed to the bridegroom

With a mindset that is sacred.

When we leave to search for oil

It’s because it was never really there,

Since deep down there is much compromise

Along with worldly cares.

But those filled with the spirit

Will be awake and ready too,

Where they do not sleep nor slumber

But trust Christ in all they do.

Is there oil in our vessel

Where the lamp does shine the light,

Or do we rely on others for provision

Or perhaps delight in our own might?

We may believe we know Him

But does He know us indeed?

Since the difference is so vast

And we must honestly take heed!

PB 2022

“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.  Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.”  Matthew 25:1-2

“Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”  Matthew 25:3-4

“But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.  And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!  Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.  And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’”  Matthew 25:5-8

“But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.  And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.  Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’”  Matthew 25:9-11

“But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.’” Matthew 25:12-13

WHY RISK IT?

Why would we risk our eternal salvation

For the temporary praises of man?

When we’re ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ;

It’s too overwhelming to understand.

Why would we prefer the compliments

From all fair-weather of friends,

Rather than the eternal favour of Almighty God

With the assurance He so sends?

Why would we risk our eternal soul

For a crumb of momentary pleasure,

Rather than looking forward to God’s reward

And His everlasting treasure?

How could we risk something so profound

Knowing that God has created us,

And that all our dreams and hopes within

Will merely turn to dust?

It’s not worth risking our eternal soul

To be accepted in people’s eyes,

Because most times it’s insincere too

With motives in disguise.

People will always let us down,

It’s the fallen nature’s way,

But God is sincere and delivers us

As we cry out to Him and pray.

Let’s not risk our eternal soul

For the crumbs life has to offer,

And let’s repent for our ignorance

Or for being mockers and scoffers.

God is real and we’ll give account

And that day is drawing near,

Let’s examine ourselves if we’re in the faith

And whether our love and faith is sincere.

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?  Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”  Matthew 16:26

“Repent and let everyone of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  Acts 2:38
