THE HEART OF A MOTHER

The heart of a rose
Is a mother’s love;
Pure and gentle
That’s bestowed from above.

It’s a love so unconditional;
Precious and rare;
A blanket of security
As she expresses much care.

A garden of flowers
Is her tender touch;
A chest full of treasures
As she loves very much.

She’s a sweet smelling fragrance
With a voice soft and kind;
She produces much fruit;
Leaves sweet memories behind.

It’s a joy and a pleasure
And a great honour too,
To be chosen as a mother
And for God’s will to do.

Thank you dear mothers
For showing much care,
And an abundance of love
Knowing that you’re always there.

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” Proverbs 31:26-28

“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praises at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31

UNSUNG HEROES

It’s those who go the extra mile
And all behind the scenes,
Without honour or recognition
And not wanting to be seen.

It’s those who plant the seeds
That will be watered in the heart,
Where wisdom and discernment
Will play a major part.

It’s those who risk their lives
To rescue us or set us free;
It’s those who know the value
Of what a humble heart should be.

Because it’s those who teach us well
When they walk the talk indeed,
As a living demonstration
Of what a great teacher should truly be.

It’s those who extend a helping hand
Where kindness it will dwell;
It’s the peacemakers who show love and grace
And where secrets they won’t tell.

It’s for those in society
Who are considered as unworthy,
But where the riches of their soul will shine
To portray a special story.

God will mainly use the broken;
Those not worthy of society,
To demonstrate what love it looks like
And where His glory can be seen.

Thank God for unsung heroes
As they’re an example to follow and be,
Because their sincerity and integrity
Is what our soul it yearns to see.

We thank God for Jesus Christ
Who hung upon that tree;
Reproached and made a spectacle
But paved the way to eternity.

Because our hero was undervalued
And rejected by society,
But was honoured and was respected
By those in heaven who will be.

“And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.” Matthew 5:41

“And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your salve – just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:27-28

“Of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.” Hebrews 11:38

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.” 1 Peter 4:14

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

AUTOGRAPHS

A celebrity and superstar
Their autograph will give,
When they become an idol
Where some fans for them do live.

An autograph becomes a treasure
Since it’s unique and special too;
It’s a reminder of an experience
That was authentic and was true.

Certain autographs are valuable;
An opportunity of a lifetime,
Since it’s rare to ever encounter
A superstar that really shines.

But autographs are temporary;
They are merely all earthbound,
And one day when it’s all over
They’ll be nowhere to be found.

Therefore, may Jesus sign His autograph
Upon our heart and soul,
Where His writing makes an imprint
With a depth to behold.

May His autograph inspire us
To write about His story,
Where His name will make a difference
And where He receives the glory.

God’s autograph upon our heart
When His word it dwells within,
Will transform our soul and give us peace
When we’re delivered from our sin.

His signature engraved within
Will instruct and will correct,
And is profitable in many ways
So His truth we won’t forget.

His autograph will matter
Because when it’s stamped and verified,
It becomes our guarantee
Where our Spirit never dies.

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.” 2 Corinthians 1:21-22

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

WILL WE TRUST HIM IN THE DARK?

Will we trust Him in the dark
When the tunnel we travel through,
Shows no sign of ever ending
And we’re despondent in all we do?

Will we trust Him in our burrow
That we’ve dug for refuge too,
Where tomorrow seems so distant
Or where hope is not renewed?

In the dark soil of our heart
Our Gardener is there,
To restore, sow and to fertilize
With His tender loving care.

It’s in our recess where the light comes in;
In our cracks and broken ways,
To heal, reform and to reconnect
With a hope that will remain.

Will we fear in the dark
Or will we learn to fear Him?
Knowing that His light sustains us
And will cleanse our sin within.

Will we trust Him in the dark?
Because if we truly and sincerely can,
Then we’ll trust Him every other time
Although we may not understand.

His ways are bigger and higher
And the big picture may be obscured,
But His promises will be revealed
As we’re shown to endure.

It’s never easy in the dark
Because we question why we’re there,
And for how long we’ll be stuck in the pit
And if whether someone cares.

But Almighty finds us in the dirt
Within the miry clay,
Because that’s the only place we can be found
So we can clearly see His ways.

He will give us a new heart
So His statutes we obey,
And deposit His Spirit deep within
When we’re repentant of our ways.

Will we trust Him in the dark
Knowing that He’s always there?
Since His mercy and His grace will shine
When we leave all in His care.

“He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.” Psalm 40:2

“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,’ says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

“For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;”
Psalm 103:11

“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;” 2 Peter 1:19

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart a flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgements and do them.” Ezekiel 36:26-27

LIKE AN ORCHESTRA

Just like an orchestra
Is the music within our heart,
That beats to the synchronised rhythm
When God will set us apart.

It’s a melody unparalleled;
It has unlocked many riches indeed;
It’s a key to true contentment
That has flourished from a seed.

An orchestra will communicate
With each member and every player,
To ensure it is in harmony
With a full layer upon layer.

It is skilled and it’s professional
And polished in its ways;
It is breathtaking and is splendid
Where much beauty will remain.

Like an orchestral masterpiece
And like a sparkling treasure box,
Is God’s jewel through Jesus Christ
When His beauty is unlocked.

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit
Are harmonious in every way;
And the most purest sound that emanates
When in our presence they do stay.

An orchestra is first class quality
As only the best will do,
And God’s integrity will only bless
With what’s honourable and true.

When God becomes our orchestra
And the only conductor in our heart,
It’s there we can harmoniously sing
With melodious works of art.

Because His rhythm in our soul
Will reflect outwardly,
Where the radiance and His glory
Can truly be seen.

The treasures of the heart
Is when Christ inhabits same,
Where His music will inspire
In rhythmic and purity of ways.

We all have a part to play
In this journey of life,
To love, be kind and to encourage
And to portray God’s precious light.

Since Jesus Christ is our true conductor
And worthy of all praise,
Let’s worship Him with sincerity
Every single day!

“Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalm 100:1-3

ARE WE READY?

Like a speck of sand upon the shore
Our lives they are dictated;
Surrounded by eternity
And truly understated.

The brevity of life;
Like a flower here today,
And blown away tomorrow
With very little of remains.

Do we reflect oftentimes
That there is no guarantee,
We’ll view another sunset
Or that tomorrow we will see?

It’s only by God’s grace
That our eyes do see the day,
And that there’s another opportunity
To serve in many ways.

Life is like a dressing room
For the eternal cause and ways,
To establish spiritual muscles
So steadfast love and hope remains.

Like a flower in its glory
Is our beauty in its prime,
And the kiss of wind that blows our petals
Will come so we may be refined.

Refined to build endurance
Irrespective of being swayed;
To establish our roots firmly in Christ
So true faith it will remain.

The winds and storms will come
But the sunsets always do,
And God’s rainbow with its colours
Will remind us of what’s true.

Are we ready if our soul
Was required of us tonight,
Or has fear gripped our heart
Where we cannot see His light?

It never is too late
So long as we have breath;
May Jesus be our Savior;
Our anchor and our safety net.

“But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’” Luke 12:20

“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” Colossians 2:6-7

“Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my age is nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapour.” Psalm 39:5

IF I FORGOT TO LOVE YOU

If I forgot to love you
Please sincerely understand,
That it was never done intentionally
And not at my command.

If I forgot to love you
There was pain inside my heart,
Through many tests and trials
That would end and then would start.

If I forgot to love you
It’s because it was not yet revealed;
The depth and its importance
Where to God we all must yield.

And if I forgot to love you
Please forgive this iniquity,
Since it was done in pure ignorance
Where I truly could not see.

If I forgot to love you
My mind was cluttered with many things,
But in retrospect there was a blockage
Of the peace true love can bring.

But when I awake and do remember
Please accept my love within,
When the treasures of my heart will shine
And where my affection you will win.

Because when I’m reminded of the greatest love
That hung upon that tree,
It was unconditional that truly let
My troubled soul go free.

“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

DOORS

We open doors and close them
And do not realise half the time,
That we’ve opened ones that are not right
When we search and cannot find.

The wrong doors lead to chaos
When we dare to enter in,
Because it’s a reflection of what we desire;
The deep yearnings from within.

And the heart is deceptive and wicked;
We don’t know what really resides;
It is only during certain moments
That it’s revealed and cannot hide.

And good intentions may be questioned
Since to be selfish is the norm,
But when the fear of God resides within
The motives take on a different form.

The right doors lead to life
Where decisions are of nobility,
And morally good and steadfast
Where true blessings we do see.

The snake will enter through the cracks
When we allow him to;
It’s important that certain doors
Remain sealed in what we say and do.

And the tongue may open certain doors
That are unnecessary as well,
Bringing confusion and much heartache
When it is set on fire by hell.

Some doors need to remain shut
For the serenity of our soul,
Because unless it is reciprocal
Many issues may unfold.

Because deception will run wild
When the wrong door will open wide,
When we handle things incorrectly;
And hidden motives are inside.

If God opens the doors
When we persist in fervent prayers,
It will be according to His will and timing
And His tender loving care.

Because unless the right ones open
Our lives can become a mess,
So patience it is mandatory
If we wish to be truly blessed.

“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.”
Psalm 24:7

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity…it is set on fire by hell.” James 3:6

“Then Jesus said to them again, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.’” John 10:7-9

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20

HIDDEN GEMS

Sometimes we can be idealistic
Of how life should really be,
But most times the valuables are in our midst
But where we fail to truly see.

We’re enriched on a daily basis
By our God-given family,
And friends that sincerely want the best
So blessings we will see.

It’s in a child’s laughter
Where the happiness is vast,
And also in our experiences
Where memories do last.

It’s the prayer warriors behind the scenes
Who pray for our protection too,
Knowing that the spiritual battle is all too real
Who intercede with hearts so true.

It’s in an old man’s story
As he shares his memories,
With words of wisdom in his tears
Where the treasure can be seen.

It’s in the incorruptible beauty
Of a quiet and gentle spirit;
It’s in the hidden person of the heart
With sincerity within it.

Sometimes the gems are hidden
But not deliberately,
Because at times our soul is troubled
Where confusion is all we see.

There are hidden gems everywhere
Where the eyes of our heart should know,
That when we awake with every breath we take
It’s God’s glory we do show.

The hidden gems are timeless;
They’re in a stranger’s smile too,
With a helping hand and a giving heart
Where there’s kindness in all they do.

Our Savior is a hidden gem
As He’s the Father’s precious Son,
Who sacrificed His life for us
As a propitiation for everyone.

“Rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” 1 Peter 3:4

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” 1 Corinthians 2:7-8

WAIT…IT’S NOT TOO LATE

There’s a virtue in our waiting
When in God’s timing we do trust,
Since it will bring forth His perfect will
When it becomes a must.

It’s easy to be allured
By stunning appearances and vanity,
But unless there’s character through experience
Much heartache we may see.

There’s patience in our waiting
When it’s for God’s ministry,
Where self-control and long-suffering
In our soul has learnt to be.

It’s best to pray for His perfect will
Since true blessings will take place,
Because although there’s His permissive will
Consequences will be faced.

There’s a beauty in our waiting
With an anticipation as well,
Wondering how and what He will provide
And much hope and peace this spells.

At times He will minister
Through dreams and visions too,
And stamping it upon our heart
When it’s His will we need to do.

It’s not too late, it never is
And it’s not premature too,
When we wait for God’s promises
Which are steadfast and are true.

And when this hope deferred brings fruit
It’s like a refreshing spring,
Giving God all the glory
Along with the blessings it does bring.

“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him;” Psalm 37:7

“So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.” Hebrews 9:28

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1
