AT THE END OF THE DAY

At the end of any given day

It may truly be our last…

Let’s forgive and bless our enemies

Of every hurt from the past.

At the end of any given day

We work hard to make a living

But we should be busy creating a life

That leaves a legacy of our giving.

If we value money, power or trends

Our soul will be deceived,

Since its only in God’s infallible Word

That we receive the true peace we need.

The worldly peace is deceptive

As it promotes acceptance of sin,

And the dissonance with false security

Will never fill the void within.

Society keeps us bound to conform

To the culture of the day,

But we need God’s revelation

To escape from its snarls and ways.

We all need to be reconciled

To God through Jesus Christ;

To switch from darkness to the light

And to be justified in God’s sight.

Since by default we are all separated

From God and His holy ways;

Requiring the sacrifice of our Lord

And the dear price He paid.

It’s the motives of our heart

At the end of every day,

As to whether our compassion is genuine

According to God’s standards and ways.

At the end of any given day

Our designated coffin awaits;

Let’s dwell in love with hope and faith

Before it’s much too late!
