Humility is a noble trait
Since it frees us from arrogance;
When we are modest of our importance
And set free from a prideful stance.
True humility acknowledges
Our need to fear the Lord;
Trusting in HIs wisdom and salvation
And to be grounded in His word.
It’s to have a genuine gratitude
With the desire to serve others,
And being aware of our bad qualities
And where love many sins will cover.
The Father displays humility
When He outreaches to the needy and poor;
Those afflicted and tormented
Pouring His love forevermore.
The Incarnate Son revealed
Humility from birth to death;
He served in meekness of spirit
And humble ways He’d manifest.
When we lean on God’s understanding
We’re displaying humility indeed,
Trusting in His perfect timing
And knowing that He will intercede.
He will show us the righteous path
Through prayer and meditation;
Leaving the arrogance of our ego behind
To submit without hesitation.
God’s ways and timing are best indeed
And until we humble ourselves to accept,
We will be frustrated with our expectations
And even have many regrets.
Humility is a beautiful trait
It’s refreshing and gentle too,
When we accept God’s leading and path for us
With His plans for me and you.
