When most things happen suddenly
There was a preparation taking place,
Behind the scenes and out of sight
Where no detail went to waste.
When a seed is planted in the heart
And thus comes to fruition,
It’s been watered and is nurtured
And will then complete its mission.
When we flourish suddenly
It’s not by luck or chance,
But due to background preparation
And not by happenstance.
It’s the sacrifice and tears
With the sweat and all the pain,
And those dreary and dull moments
Where not much hope will remain.
But it’s necessary to endure
Knowing there’s a reward in store,
For our faithfulness and perseverance
When we give a little more.
When Solomon built the temple
Preparation was not on site,
Since the stone was finished at the quarry;
T’was such an important plight.
So when suddenly the temple was built
It was indeed a masterpiece,
Where preparation was behind the scenes
Where much labor did not cease.
When Nehemiah rebuilt the wall
In fifty two days it was finished,
And his enemies were disheartened
Knowing by God’s help it was accomplished.
When machinery will finally work
It’s only due to the solemn fact,
That pieces were assembled separately
Before they were intact.
When suddenly there’s calamity
There was a plan prior to same,
Constructed in the heart and mind
And to destroy was its end game.
A divorce doesn’t happen overnight
But contemplated in the heart,
Many years prior to its execution
Before they’re suddenly torn apart.
The sudden pain and confusion
Is disheartening indeed,
But it was cultivated and watered within
And began with just a seed.
When our life and circumstances
Become a monotonous routine,
There’s a work being conducted behind the scenes
But one we cannot see.
When God prepares the soil
And will knit two hearts together,
And suddenly for His glory
We shall honour Him forever!
Suddenly when Christ returns
It will not be a surprise,
To those who have prepared their heart
And look forward to the prize.
