It won’t matter on that day
Whether we had a career or a degree…
Since the degree that we will be judged
Is whether Christ has set us free.
Have we been liberated
Exempt from liability;
Where all our sins are washed away
So God’s truth we finally see?
Did our career entail
God’s will for our lives,
Or were we entangled with the love of money
To believe the many lies?
It won’t matter how good we were
Since righteous is not one…
Did Jesus become our Lord and Savior
Since He died for everyone?
Was He resurrected in our heart
And did we thirst for His word?
Were we led by the Spirit
As He became our Lord?
The yardstick is the word of God
The ultimate and valid standard;
The authentic, authoritative word indeed
Irrespective of times it’s been tampered.
The thief on the cross
Was a despicable man indeed,
But Christ’s mercy extended till the end
For His soul He did intercede.
So it’s not how righteous we have been
Since we all drastically fall short;
Knowing that the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked
With the many lies we’re taught.
The educational institutions
Have become indoctrination stations;
Where ideologies are fully endorsed
And believed without hesitation.
Because no philosophy, creed or religion
Will ever compare to God’s standard…
Since His pure and undiluted truth
Outlines His doctrine and commandments.
God’s word is the yardstick
As to whether we are eternally saved;
Let’s ensure Christ is our Lord and Savior
Before we hit the grave.
