LITTLE FAITH IN A BIG GOD

When we have little faith in a big God

We’ve come to understand,

That although our prayers are sweet smelling aromas

They’re little gems in His big hands.

When we humble ourselves in sincere faith

And recognise His majesty,

We are meek, contrite and have respect

Where His miracles we see.

To have little faith in a big God

It’s to have that simplicity,

And a childlike faith that is strong and robust

Where answered prayers we see.

A little faith goes a long way

When we recognise His voice,

Since there’s a surety combined with peace

When we make the correct choice.

David used a pebble

But His faith was huge indeed,

And He trusted in God to defeat Goliath

And a miracle He did see.

Gideon won the battle

With a small percentage of faithful men,

But it was God who interceded

When Gideon’s tribe He did defend.

By faith Noah built the ark

And was ridiculed indeed,

But had a steadfast hope that dwelled within

When to God’s warning did take heed.

Sarah’s faith was minuscule

That she could conceive at her ripe age,

But when Almighty’s hand blessed Abraham

God’s glory took the stage.

Because it’s the strength and the power

Of our Almighty and Most High,

That will deliver us and rescue

When in His love we do abide.

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”  Hebrews 11:3

“By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.”  Hebrews 11:7

“Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin.  But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied…then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.”  1 Samuel 17:45-49

“Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing.  Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, ‘After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?’”  Genesis 18:11-12

“By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.  Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude – innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.”  Hebrews 11:11-12

“For what more shall I say?  For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon…also of David and Samuel and the prophets; who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong…” Hebrews 11:32-34

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.’”  Psalm 91:1-2
