If we truly believe that one day we’ll die
Then surely we’d change our ways,
Knowing that we’ll stand to give an account
To a holy God some day.
If we truly believe we’ll die one day
Then surely we’d seek to find;
To discover the truth of this life
From the heart and not our mind.
If we truly believe that one day we’ll die
Then we’d be sensitive to His call,
And then to sincerely repent from the heart
And make Him our all-in-all.
And if we truly believe in our own lies
Then the veil will continue to be,
Enveloped around our heart and mind
Where God’s judgement we will see.
Because souls have been tormented
Where regret was clearly shown,
As they lay on their death bed
When a life a vanity was sown.
When revelation comes too late
It’s because we have been thoroughly deceived,
And have hardened our hearts to the voice of God
But where regret and sorrow we see.
When our pride exalts itself
Above the knowledge of Most High,
We rebel against a holy God
And join forces with like-minded tribes.
But God cannot be mocked
And His perfect justice will prevail,
In His timing and not our own
Since His vengeance will never fail.
We all suffer in different ways;
Unfortunately some more but others less,
However it’s not an excuse to reject the Lord
Since His deliverance is always best.
And if we truly believe and trust
In the agendas of society,
Then fear becomes our necklace
Where frustration will continue to be.
What an inspiration some people are
When through tribulation they’re made pristine,
Having suffered immeasurably but remain steadfast
Where God’s glory they do see.
If we truly believe that one day
Our eyes on this earth will close,
Then we’ll have reverence for God Almighty above
Rather than for all false friends and foes.
