ROMANS 10:9-10

When we entertain words of life

Something special occurs within;

There’s a light that fills our soul

When the required change it brings.

When we confess noble thoughts

There’s no room for negativity,

Since the power behind encouraging words

Has potential to plant good seed.

To believe in something is to act

Since it’s not just a passive thought;

It requires diligence and commitment

Once the truth is known and taught.

When our heart truly believes

It inspires us to make a difference;

To act in kindness and walk by faith

Where potential harvest is immense.

When we confess with our mouth

It’s the abundance from our heart;

It’s our thoughts and our desires

That challenge us to make a new start.

To confess the Lord Jesus

And believe in our heart He was raised,

Consolidates our salvation

As we give God all the praise.

We can’t contribute to our salvation

Since it was finalised on the cross,

And by believing and confessing

In our heart the truth is embossed.

Then a wonderful thing does occur

When by faith we trust in Christ,

There’s the process of sanctification

When all sin we learn to fight.

Because the battle will always rage

Since the flesh wants to win,

But when we walk in the spirit

We repent of all our sin.

As we understand the severity

If we continue in transgression,

It will taint our mind and heart

And manipulate all our affections.

To believe unto righteousness

Requires a change of mind;

It’s to crucify our old nature

And leave former patterns behind.

In simplicity there’s a cause and effect

And we do reap what we sow,

And by allowing the Holy Spirit to dwell within

All unrighteousness it must go.

The spiritual warfare is real indeed

And once we learn to fight,

The washing by the word of God

Fills our soul with light.

Jesus was crucified but raised from the dead

To give us life forevermore,

As promised in the Scriptures

Where death will reign no more.

(C) P.B. 2020

“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:9-10

MASTERPIECES

Masterpieces by the hand of God

Are miracles indeed;

Where everything has a plan and purpose

Emanating from a seed.

The phenomenal structure of mankind

All organs working in harmony;

Where the intelligent mind is well aware

And God’s creative majesty can see.

The overwhelming beauty

And the scent of a rose;

With a hidden message in its thorn

To use caution if we impose.

The brilliance of a dog’s face

And its perfect features too;

The plethora of love in its soul

With a loyalty sincere and true.

The amazing story of ants

And their ability to provide,

And their brilliant little minds at work

A miracle that cannot be denied.

The brilliance of a giraffe

And the structure of its neck;

We marvel at the woodpecker

Where thousands of times a tree can peck.

The beauty of all flowers

And the wonder of every tree,

And the humble one that provides our food

It’s the spectacular little bee.

The masterpiece of heaven

Where eternal life will dwell,

For those who aren’t ashamed of Christ

Who exchanged their ticket for hell.

Masterpieces galore indeed

In every sphere of creation;

In the population of mankind

Of every tribe and nation.

The most honourable masterpiece

Is Jesus God’s own Son;

A perfect representation

Qualified to save everyone.

But it’s for those who will accept Him

Where their lives are truly changed,

To reflect that they are children of God

Where their old nature will not remain.

Masterpieces and perfection

Only by God’s precious touch,

To reveal His glory but more than that

To show He loves us very much.

“Then God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind, cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind’ and it was so.” Genesis 1:24

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”  Psalm 150:6

“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, which having no caption, overseer or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8

“I will praise You, for You have answered me, and have become my salvation.  The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone…This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.”  Psalm 118:21-24

PROVERBS 31:10-31

A beautiful representation

Of an obedient and godly woman;

Who is virtuous in her ways

And in integrity will stand.

Her husband always trusts her

And he knows she’ll do no harm;

She is generous and kind

As she extends her loving arm.

She works and is diligent

To provide for her family,

And reaches out to the needy

And to those in poverty.

She’s creative in her pursuits

And not afraid to invest,

And her fruitful ways yield dividends

As she provides her very best.

She isn’t clothed with fear

But understands her responsibilities;

She is draped in fine linen

Where God’s face she yearns to see.

She is wise and speaks with kindness

And protects her household indeed;

Her children recognise that she’s blessed

As she plants much faithful seed.

She is worthy like a gem

And like rubies she will shine;

Strength and honour are her clothing

With an anointing pure and divine.

She fears the Lord and has reverence

And her hands produce much fruit;

Her husband loves and praises her

And she is not afraid of truth.

She’s the epitome of a wife

And an encouragement to us all;

To inspire us by her example

To live as we are called.

(C) P.B. 2020

“Who can find a virtuous wife?  For her worth is far above rubies, the heart of her husband safely trusts her, so he will have no lack of gain.  She does him good and not evil all the days of her life…she extends her hand to the poor, yes she reaches out her hands to the needy…She watches over the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.  Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her…charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord she shall be praised.  Give her of the fruit of her hands”

Proverbs 31:10-31

ROMANS 1:20

When we take a look around

What do we truly see?

Do we believe it’s all an accident

Or it’s created so beautifully?

It’s a question we should ponder

Since our decision has implications,

As to whether we can clearly see

With eternal ramifications.

The crystal clear sky so blue

Birds with wind beneath their wings;

The sun a miraculous fireball

The sweet sounds when a child sings.

The beauty of all animals

And their tender gentle touch;

The kindness of a human soul

When it loves very much.

The majesty of a forest

Birthed from tender little seeds;

The provision that we receive

When we cry from the heart for our needs.

The grandeur of the ocean

And the thunder of its waves;

The poignant message from a thunderstorm

That washes all debris away.

The splendour of a rainbow

With a message that is deep;

It’s when the sun comes out during the rain

And after trials much joy we reap.

The carpet of the earth is grass

And the clouds a cotton ball;

The harmony of the leaves in autumn

Creating beauty as they fall.

The brilliance of a waterfall

The precious sight of same;

As cascading waters mesmerize

With an imbedded wonder that remains.

The miraculous turn around of events

And the healing in our lives;

He’s responsible for every new birth

A fact that cannot be denied.

The butterfly that unfolds

From an unsightly cocoon;

The sign of Christ’s prophetic return

All so imminent and so soon.

Invisible attributes of the Father

So clearly and wonderfully seen;

His creative touch so majestic indeed

So pure and pristine.

“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse.”  Romans 1:20

THE TONGUE

This member is so tiny

Yet it boasts so many things…

It wars against its members

Much pain the tongue it brings.

It is driven by the latent soul

By emotions and the will,

Many times it does not filter

Throws its arrows for the kill.

It harms and wounds the innocent

And ignites the situation;

Cannot succumb so easily

It causes much frustration.

But it harbours a solution

And much training it requires,

To refine patterns of speech

And to quench its lusts desires.

And once it learns to operate

With wisdom and much hope,

It is laden with much honey

With life’s burdens it will cope.

(C) P.B. 2002

“even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things… the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity.” James 3:5-6

NO NEED

No need to own a mansion

As this may keep our eyes from You;

No need for fame or fortune

As this could shift our focus too.

No need to follow false gods

Or ideologies at all,

As Your gate is long and narrow

And for those whose name You call.

No need for debt accumulated

To follow what others do,

Lord please keep our eyes firmly fixed

On Your Word and only You.

Please provide our daily needs

To sustain our life on earth,

And feed our spirit daily

So we understand our worth.

Thank you for Your provision

In Your simplicity and grace;

Thank You for joy and peace

We so long to see Your face.

And if You give us fame and fortune

For Your glory may they be used,

To build Your eternal kingdom

And to bring honour unto You.

“All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” 1 Peter 1:24

(C) P.B. 2014

MARVELOUS

Your wonders and your mighty ways

Are manifest to all,

You reach our arm and rescue us

When your name we call.

You pluck us from the miry clay

And show your depths of love;

You teach us through your sacred Word

Your knowledge from above.

Your spirit hovers over us

It protects and nurtures too;

It breaks the chains of bondage

As we place our faith in you.

This life is very brief

Compared to eternity…

Lord please cleanse and mold our hearts

So no second death we’ll see.

No sin is too great

That you simply can erase;

No pain is too deep

Where your healing can take place.

Your ways are great and marvelous

God Almighty from above;

Your gentle touch it comforts us

As you embrace our soul with love.

We thank you every single day

For your mercy and your grace;

We pray and worship you alone

As we prepare to see your face.

(C) P.B. 2014

“Fear not, O land, Be glad and rejoice, for the Lord has done marvelous things.” Joel 2:21

“Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness..” Joel 2:13

AGAPE

True love it lasts forever

And it endures the test of time;

It is committed and it is faithful

It’s like precious gold refined.

It is never rude or proud

And it always speaks the truth;

It is humble and so gentle

With an authority that bears fruit.

It is music mixed with art

And a tapestry of flowers;

It is clean and also crisp

Filled with the majesty of God’s power.

True love is sacrificial

And stands against society,

And its self-fulfilling desires

So God’s heart it learns to see.

It is holy and so pure

With both love and peace combined;

It’s a joyful fountain spring

Where many treasures we can find.

Our Jesus set the standard

But we nailed Him to the cross,

Since our rebellious fallen nature

Required Christ to pay the cost.

An expression of timeless grace

With an event that never fails;

A belief that bears all things

And a hope that will prevail..

(C) P.B. 2017

“Love suffers long and is kind, love does not envy, love does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails”. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

ETERNITY

It’s the Alpha and the Omega

The beginning and the end;

Where there’s no boundaries in time

That our mind can comprehend.

It’s grains of sand in our palms

That we grasp but can’t contain;

It’s the plethora of stars above

Where light years are sustained.

It’s a wisdom that lasts forever

Of understanding mixed with faith;

It’s where our soul remains eternal

A masterpiece that God creates.

It’s a trail of ants unending

It’s an ocean of waves alive;

A solar system that knows no end

Where God’s fingerprints can’t hide.

It’s the humble and sober reminder

Of this life with every breath,

And its blessing and divine favour

A gift we ought to never regret.

As we abandon false perceptions

Where society keeps us bound,

We adopt the timeless treasures

In God’s word where they are found.

Society ought not to rob us

Or to strip God’s moral law,

That is stamped inside our heart

And gives life forevermore!

(C) P.B. 2017

“Also He has put eternity in their hearts…” Ecclesiastes 3:11

“for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.” Revelation 22:5

WHAT IF

What if Christ is the Truth

The Life and only Way,

Do we surrender all to Him

Or continue to run astray?

What if Christ was crucified

And died for all our sins,

Do we call God a liar

By denying this within?

What if the resurrection occurred

After Christ was crucified,

Would it transform the way we live

Or would we dismiss it as a lie?

What if a day of judgement

Is reserved for every soul,

Are we willing to risk eternity

By believing untruths we’re told?

What if the Holy Bible

Is for instruction and daily feed…

Would we revere God’s infallible Word

Or continue to be deceived?

What if our dear conscience

Tells us clearly right from wrong?

But we choose instead to sear it

When our transgressions are prolonged.

What if all grand creation

Was made by God Almighty?

We will all have no excuse

If this fact we’ve taken lightly.

But what if it’s one big lie

And there’s nothing when we die?

My dear friend don’t risk it

Since our soul remains alive!
