TO KNOW HIM

Oh to know Him is so splendid!

How the heart it yearns to see,

The deeper treasure of His majesty

Who has unlocked eternity.

The more we know Him deeply,

The more we love Him too;

As we’re simply not bound by regulations

Or to strive in all we do.

The more we truly know Him,

The greater the desire to follow He;

As we’re moulded to reflect His ways

And from our bondage be set free.

The more we become like Him

The truer our soul will be,

Coupled with love and with sincerity

Where true blessings we will see.

To know Him is to know true peace,

Since He’s the epitome of same;

The one who calms our storms within

And where there’s wisdom in His name.

To know Him there’s intimacy

And a warmth within our soul,

That ignites a joy amidst all situations

And where His promises we uphold.

To know Him is to know life,

Since He’s the bread of heaven;

As He satisfies our spiritual hunger

And will remove doctrines of leaven.

To know Him is to know the truth,

Since He claims He is the way;

The life, the truth, and the way to the Father

And forever this remains.

“Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.” 1 John 2:3

“But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.” 1 John 2:5

“I am the bread of life.” John 6:48

“If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever.” John 6:51
